Where do you find inspiration?Bodies of water, the African American diasporic experience, black joy, love, and music.
What would you do with $25,000?Build myself a little studio on a tiny piece of property I own in my home town in Vancleave, Mississippi that has been in my family since the emancipation proclamation. Set up an outdoor salt kiln, and take some more, buy some enough supplies so that I can focus on building my studio practice so I can focus on building bodies of work to exhibit. I would be great to not have to worry about selling work just to pay my studio rent & buy supplies.
