every brush stroke is pure agony. The challenge of actualizing a vision…it’s uniquely presencing, and I think that’s why I do it
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I like to make Bob Ross style oil landscapes, but then mar them by man’s presence… Mayan inspired ink and paint And giant acrylic pop art inspired by my French bulldog Gonzo R.I.P.
Where do you find inspiration?I don’t know that I’ve really found my “voice“ as a painter quite yet, so I think I find my inspiration from other artists a lot and from nature… Both of my frenchies…Bob Ross, obviously…Che Guevara and Taylor Swift…comic books and Latin American magical realism🤷♂️the maya for sure…tattoo artists like Matt Sager and Chris Collinsworth🤘
What would you do with $25,000?I would do just that…take some time to do nothing but paint and make art in the hopes that I could connect to that true authentic expression of myself through painting… Likely through a lot of trial and error… buy Barbie on DVD and play it on repeat in the background while I paint incessantly at some sort of remote rental on the big island of Hawaii❤️🤘
