I create to reveal what we hide, turning emotion, memory, and identity into something you can finally see and feel.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Layered mixed-media portraiture; using plexiglass, paint, and texture to explore emotion, identity, and what lies beneath the surface.
Where do you find inspiration? From the tension between who we are and who we appear to be, drawn from memory, emotion, human behavior, and the quiet moments people try to hide.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d use it to buy time..time to work, to study, to sit with the hard truths and make something honest from them. I’d push the work further, strip it down, and build it back up until it feels real, until it says something that lasts.
