Creating art through Photography has allowed me to stretch the boundaries of my imagination. It lets me see the beauty in our dark world.

As a photographer, I love to get creative with stop motion as well as macro images or a combination of both, (which is the piece I submitted). When I returned to college in 2021 after being an Early Childhood Educator for over 20 years to follow my passion into photography, I learned so many different skills and found a love for stop motion. The timing it takes, how creative I could be with it, trying to push myself to capture such a difficult shot and the rush when you see it on the screen :)
Where do you find inspiration?I love nature! I am inspired by the beauty in the spring blooms, the shape of snowflakes in winter, the sound of the lake rolling up on the sand, the smell after the rain, how trees prove that letting go can be a beautiful thing. The calm that comes over me after a walk in the woods is unmatched! I’ve always felt connected with nature. It fills me with joy and a sense of peace I can’t quite explain and inspires me to want to capture the essence of this world and freeze it in time through my art.
What would you do with $25,000?Last spring I was diagnosed with terminal LGSOC - which is a rare type of ovation cancer. I would use some of the money to take my husband and our son on vacation. I’ve always wanted to see New York at Christmas, as well as have the opportunity to take my son to the MoMA, The MET and American Museum of Natural History. There is so much beauty to see through other artists eyes and I would love to share it with my family.
