I believe art is a great way to tell a story about our culture, what we represent and where we come from.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Landscapes and nature are my favourite subject. We are connected to our surroundings, guiding who we are and reminding us of our purpose on this planet. Where we live influences each culture and art can depict our unique stories. Painting what I see, centres me. When ever times become challenging, engaging with nature reminds me to be be still and grateful. I hope that I can translate that feeling for my viewers through my art.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration can be found in the smallest of things, from a feather, a tree and animals to a warm Chinook wind, extending to the mountains, prairies and oceans. Inspiration comes to me when viewing a serene sunset, the Northern Lights and on stormy days. Our world offers beauty and sense of awe in its surroundings and is a source of endless subject matter for my artwork. It reminds me of how grand the world is, how connected we are and our time is precious. I make my art to tell my own stories.
What would you do with $25,000?I would love to build an artist retreat and offer lessons for inspiring artists of all ages and abilities.
