I love to make anything that I can create with my blade. I love to cut into a variety of materials, such as paper, paintings, photographs, Tyvek, metal. I am not bound by any particular type of Medium, although I use the same type of language that I have created throughout all of them. My favorite types of works are often layered, use color and shadow play to get people to see things they already know in a new way it is often feminine, yet resilient at the same time, focusing on the forgotten.
Where do you find inspiration?Every time I step outside my door, I am inspired by colors, sounds, stories. The spot of beautiful texture on an abandoned building, the colors on a tissue box, I love to look at the ordinary to find the extraordinary.
What would you do with $25,000?I dream about moving out of my home studio into a larger studio space so that the projects can become even more grand and can reach even more people. $25,000 would allow me to branch out into other materials and would fund the space to do that it would also allow me the ability to connect with other creatives, which is extremely important to me. Art cannot be made in a Silo.
