Where do you find inspiration?As a non-verbal artist, Karissa finds inspiration through the love and support of her community. She is deeply inspired by the people who appreciate and connect with her art, as well as by everyday experiences, colors, and emotions around her. Her creativity is a reflection of the world she feels and observes, expressed through her unique artistic voice.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, Karissa would work toward creating a gallery space where people can experience her artwork in person and connect with her creative journey. She would also use the opportunity to expand the work of 'The Karissa Narukami Autism Foundation', supporting children and youth with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities through free art classes, feeding programs, and the distribution of art supplies. This would allow her to give back to the community that continues to inspire her.
