I'm a multi-media artist. Space and proportion are extremely important to me along with geography. Where I am in the world influences me, as well as local history and current events. German contemporary art is important to me, but the Art Institute of Chicago (and my first 23 years living there are most important.
Where do you find inspiration?Space and proportion are critical to my work. The Art Institute taught me the difference between good Art and great art. I am self taught. My aesthetic is political. I am a PhD dropout in American government, and in my work I try to portray the complexities of how the system works.
What would you do with $25,000?With what little experience I know that breaking into any higher level of the art world means having to break through a ceiling made out of reinforced concrete. Your competition seems to be set up for that, giving me that opportunity. I have elements of business plan that will help me make a successful transition should I win
