I like to create art that reflects life, color, power & freedom with a bit of whimsy. The world is so structured and some times so black and white, so I enjoy painting outside of the lines in a sense.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my reflection. Not just who I see in the mirror, but the beauty around me. I find inspiration in my communities, in my friends, in my spirituality and the beauty of colors. I am a proud black queer woman. So I love to paint the beauty of all colors and inclusivity. I believe representation matters & that everyone deserves to see their reflection and to have their story told.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I could finally pour into my passions. I am a 46 year old woman who has poured into others all of my life, almost to a fault. This money would allow me to fund the necessities that I would need to further my career. I would get a car so that I can venture to more opportunities. I would also be able to get a space of my own to set up a studio to create more art and finally get a professional website up and running So I can share my art with the world.
