I create multi-layered ink butterflies to raise money to provide free cancer support for people undergoing treatment.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Large scale, ultra vivid, vibrant butterflies that symbolize transformation, the fragility of life and challenges we all face and of living life in the present moment.
Where do you find inspiration?I am inspired by the people I work with who are navigating cancer and chronic illness - the uncertainty of life, the challenges and strength of the human spirit to overcome, to transform and evolve. I am in awe of the delicate balance of fragility and resilience we all have within us. To me the jagged edges of butterfly wings depict this beautifully - they tell stories of adventure, danger, and weathering life’s storms - and yet they are so delicate, unique and so very beautiful.
What would you do with $25,000?I would put 100% toward providing free cancer support for people in need. This is my life’s mission and purpose. I want to make a difference and currently all the profits from the sale of my butterfly artworks go toward providing free group cancer support. I am a board certified nurse coach with more than 25 years experience and I’ve worked with thousands of cancer patients. Through my art sales, I can now do my coaching for free - Art with a very special mission.
