I love the pursuit of beauty. I love the process of taking raw color in a variety of forms and wrestling with solving a visual problem.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love doing oil still life and landscape because, for me, it’s the most challenging. It never gets old and there is always opportunity for growth. Having some success with it is also particularly rewarding. I also love doing floral paintings and pastel landscapes.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in nature, in gardens, and, when I’m paying attention, everywhere. There is beauty to be found if you’re really looking.
What would you do with $25,000?First I would pray for wisdom to steward it well. Then, I would take some right off the top to help people in my life in need. I would take a portion to restore my 1966 mustang to its former glory. It once belonged to both Kenny Lovelace, Jerry Lee Lewis’ guitar player, and Jerry Lee Lewis, “the killer” himself; so it definitely deserves some love and the best restoration possible. I would also probably buy some art supplies!
