I create art in hopes that it inspires someone to love themselves. To see value in who they are, and to find joy in the everyday world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating large canvas oil paintings filled with textures as thick as icing on a cake, bright and fun colors, with memories woven in. Nature, flowers, and quiet emotions tied to growth and time inspire most of my work. I strive to make my work feel both comforting and powerful - like a memory you can step into and walk around in.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from all around me. Nature shows growth and change in such unique ways, and I try my best to capture that feeling in my work. I also find inspiration in flowers because I feel like they show time passing in a way that nothing else really does…they grow, bloom and die so quickly, while still being beautiful while they’re here. I feel like that’s life, in a way. We’re born, we live, we die. It’s so quick, and maybe I can capture these moments, if only inside a painting.
What would you do with $25,000?I would pay off the rest of my debt and if I had anything left over, I’d give it to my dad to help them pay off stuff as well. It feels like everything in their house is breaking all at once!
