Art is the pulse of resistance and artists are bleeding hearts. This world needs more of it now more than ever. To feel to be seen and heard
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I don’t lock myself in to one particular style, I follow whatever my heart is calling to! My work is bright, bold, and full of volume, in every particular piece, no whispering here! I’m especially drawn to portraits as well as the female form, because every face and every body carries its own story, its own challenge, and its different every time. And of course the ladies deserve their flowers 💐
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration from within a lot. The itch underneath the surface that screams to be scratched sometimes can turn into anything! But I am also inspired by music and the musician. Especially those who choose to use their platform for advocacy.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d turn it into a rising place for myself, my son, and the creative community around us. As a single mother and an artist, I’ve learned to build with whatever I have, but this would let me create with intention. I’d invest in materials, a safer workspace, and time to grow my creative business, while also expanding the work I already do uplifting women artists in my area by offering pop-ups, small grants, and collaborative projects to help them shine and support them to the fullest.
