I always describe the art I make as intuitive expressionism. I enjoy making art where I have no idea what it will look like in the final product. Once I find the perfect flow state it’s like wandering with paint on the canvas, and there’s something about it that is so thrilling yet tranquil to me! Each canvas tells its own story, and every viewer brings a fresh perspective!
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the childlike ability to put a pencil to paper and just create whatever the soul desires. I find inspiration in ethereal, dream-like, fable-inspired themes. I would say I am a nostalgic person and I grew up being very interested in storybooks and illustrations of all mediums. I also find experimental mark making and texture entrancing, and lastly, I admire self expression in many forms!
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000, first and foremost, I would want to give some as a donation to UNICEF towards meals for families in Gaza, and I would invest the rest into my art career and housing as an emerging artist. I would love to be able to invest in my own studio space, which is definitely difficult for young artists in the middle of a housing crisis. I would love to get a head start into being able to make art full time, it would be a huge privilege and honour to even be considered! Thank you.
