I create art to process the world - turning emotion into form, finding clarity in chaos, and connection through honest expression.

My favorite art captures the authentic human experience and helps me feel the world more deeply. I create to understand my own emotions, my connection to others, and my sense of purpose as part of life’s ongoing journey. As a high school humanities teacher from a struggling background, I use both teaching and art to inspire students, friends, and colleagues. I hope my work helps others feel something real, reflect on their own lives, and feel more grounded in who they are and meant to be.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the faces of my three lovely daughters; I find inspiration in the perfectly wrinkled hands of my Grandma Georgie. I find inspiration in old barns in my home town that are now sinking into their graves. I find inspiration in my chaotic mind at 1 AM. I find inspiration from my near death experience ( heart attack survivor, 34 y/o). I find inspiration in those who feel the world deeply; in love and loss, and in moments where strength and fragility exist in the same moment.
What would you do with $25,000?I would put the money toward my family’s needs and long-term security, helping create a little more breathing room and peace of mind for all of us. I would also use some of it to take a road trip with my kids down the L.A, so they could see my art (and the work of other artists) in The Art of Elysium. I would love to inspire them to create and go after what sets their souls on fire, too! ❤️?
