I love the creative process of bringing to life the ideas I have and watching them unfold into ways I hadn’t imagined.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to create immersive pieces that invite the audience into a space they haven’t experienced before. I want my work to emulate nostalgia and liminality so that for a brief period it feels like a different reality, perhaps something out of a dream.
Where do you find inspiration?Everyday I get inspiration when I walk through my city and glance at the tall buildings around me. I notice shadows and light reflections, refractions and distortions. The corners and crevices between the concrete and brick structures that are easily missed but hold their own kind of simple beauty. I am drawn to the sense of stillness that is present in alleys and halls and overall seeking the liminal spaces that hide in the mundane world around me.
What would you do with $25,000?I’m a young artist in the worst economic climate right now. Trying to maintain my passion with art while making a living isn’t easy. This money would allow me to purchase the supplies I need to continue my artistic work, while also being able to afford my groceries at the end of the month. I would use this to help me get a new camera and projector to enhance the quality of my work, as well to travel to some of my dream locations for photographing some unique new structures and spaces.
