As an artist, I want to bring awareness to the struggles of the Navajo reservation. I create art to tell a story of my people and myself.

I explore mixed media elements, combining traditional printmaking techniques with innovative materials. I experiment with screen printing and relief printmaking on unconventional surfaces such as canvas and denim. Additionally, I incorporate beaded elements to add a unique cultural dimension to my work. I also use photography to capture moments, landscapes, and portraits of loved ones, which I then incorporate into my printmaking work.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the landscapes and people I am surrounded by. Being Native American, I am supposed to take care of the land and be thoughtful. I have become involved with a great group of friends that have showed me ways to express myself. When thoughts come to me, I draw and scribble on anything, like a napkin. Then I take it back to my studio and rework the image. Until I feel confident with my piece.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the money for two different reasons. One, I am trying to go back to New Mexico for the Tamarind Institute. It is a world class Lithograph shop. I want to prove that I am one of the best lithography printmakers. Second, I want to start working on my personal lithography studio. I want to be able to wake up and go to my studio. I want to be able to work on my art all hours of the night. Slowly, open it up to others as a collective work space.
