What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love watercolor painting the most, but I've been delving into acrylics and collage lately. I'm truly enjoying using mixed media in my pieces. For me, it's a freeing and intuitive way to create something unexpected.

Where do you find inspiration?

When I sit at the blank page, my process is more intuitive. I begin with mark making and see where the piece leads me. However, somewhere along the way, the image begins to emerge, and I develop the piece as it reveals itself. My inspiration usually comes from my feelings, thoughts of what I'm going through at that time, or what is happening around me. My rich heritage also has a huge influence on my work. I often feel drawn to the mountain landscapes of the Andes and jungles of the Amazon.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would likely pay off my credit card and use the remaining money to take a trip to Asia. I would love to photograph and paint in Kyoto or Osaka, Japan, or Jeju, Korea. I want to experience more of the world. I've only ever been to 3 continents; my life goal is to visit all 6 at least once in my lifetime.
