What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite type of art to create is: Hyper-Surrealism. I use a mix of mechanical pencils, paint, and colored pencils to create a finished product. Each piece, although none resemble my likeness, are all self-portraits in a way: capturing a personified version of my emotions and experiences. Very little of what we know about mental health experiences can be properly conveyed using words. I create art to bridge that gap.

Where do you find inspiration?

I am inspired by the never-ending craving to know who I am. Before ever hitting double digits in age, I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, a diagnosis that would follow me into my late 20's and likely forever more. I have spent most of my life knowing those around me better than I know myself. The process of creating these pieces reminds me that all things must come to an end eventually and I cannot wait to see the finished product of myself.

What would you do with $25,000?

Oh my. For my little family, $25,000 would be life changing. I do not see personal use for it all though, as I have always been a servant of the community and know that others could use this money more than my family. The greatest achievement for me here would be to be placed in a gallery. This would be the first time that my artwork has ever been viewed by such a large audience. Having my art in a gallery is my greatest dream.
