I love painting portraits because it turns my passion into purpose. Every sale donates to charity, directly helping hockey families in need.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Painting portraits of famous musicians, celebrities, and athletes is my absolute favorite thing to do. There’s an electric thrill in capturing their charisma, intensity, and larger-than-life energy, the swagger of rock stars, the glow of Hollywood icons, and the battle-hardened grit of pro athletes. Each brushstroke feels powerful and intimate. What makes it truly special is turning that passion into purpose. When these portraits sell and half the proceeds go to the Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in people with presence—like Josh Blue or athletes such as Samuel Girard and Darren Helm from the Colorado Avalanche. Their expressions and energy tell stories without words. When I paint them, I aim to capture that intensity and personality, not just their appearance.
What would you do with $25,000?If I win the $25,000, I’ll split it 50/50 between Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation and my 15-year-old son, who’s pursuing a career in hockey. Every dollar will go toward supporting the game—giving back to the community and helping my son chase his goals.
