I’m not very picky when it comes to art. When inspiration finds me, I create with whatever medium it demands. I love the way a graphite pencil can render the word black and white and acrylic paints can create one that never existed. I wear my wire working skills on my chest and fabric mosaics on my back. I display flower arrangements in my pottery and knit sweaters for my sculptures. When my inspiration is not physical, I produce murals through the air with my guitar. I love art in all its forms
Where do you find inspiration?I find myself most inspired by my favorite artist, Nature. The intricacies found in the microscopic cells of a fallen leaf astound me. The way a snake of moonlight slithers atop rippling waves with such grace and beauty reminds me that I live in the gallery of a true master. Their art is everywhere I turn, laced with a level of detail and true creative energy that I could only one day dream of emulating.
What would you do with $25,000?I would take a leap of faith. My biggest fear is not failure; it is the fear of never trying at all. While my childhood self told the world I would be an artist when I grow up, I have done little presently to materialize her dreams. After graduating college this spring, her voice in my head cried out louder, urging me to break out of the box of fear and self doubt. Recognition of my art means more to me than the money. It is my chance to escape from societies box and set my potential free.
