My art acts as a visual representation of how I interpret my world. I create because it makes me feel complete.

I love creating abstract work using a variety of mediums as a way to interpret my world. Different materials let me approach emotion and experience from new angles. I’m drawn to the idea that the work doesn’t need a concrete meaning and I love how it opens up a space for each viewer to bring their own perspective and interpretation.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration nearly everywhere! Sights, sounds, emotions, conflicts, beauty, nature, tastes, sensations, all the experiences in life are a limitless well of inspiration to me. I find that just the act of creating leads me to new ideas. Figuring out how to bring that vision or idea to life is the driving force in much of my practice.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the prize money to help further my art career. I would invest in some major studio upgrades like new lighting, a proper setup for filming my process. I would purchase a flatbed scanner so I can make prints, give my website a major overhaul, and I would apply for some artist residencies - because it would give me the financial freedom to take some time off work.
