It is my ticket to tomorrow
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I am a collage artist - creating architectural mashups as a background for the "human gesture" that counters the environment - the added text gives "context" to the image.
Where do you find inspiration?Artist's Statement "I work in a sort of literary/philosophical framework so within that context my reference points are the parables of Kafka and the aphorisms of Kierkegaard. Because elements determine content, the process of creation is both constrained and liberated by the available elements at any given time and it is the improvised procedure of choice, assembly and judgment that settles the argument".
What would you do with $25,000?I am 77yrs. old - not looking for a "career" - just looking to distribute my collages to whom ever finds engagement with the work - it has to mean something to the viewer - I would use that money to creat a pop-up exhibit in my NYC neighborhood - and could donate the rest - to my goddaughter & a good cause. It is hard or near impossible to exhibit in NYC gallery if your work sells for an affordable $300. I understand the economics of gallery wall space - & I am thus "unprofitable" -
