Creating art helps me express myself in a way words cannot. Art has been my friend, and my therapist. I would not be here without art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art is painting. Although recently I have discovered mixed media for my own art and have just fallen in love with using multiple media to create the imagery. I like using a mixture of 2D elements with 3D principles. I think it adds so much more interest to my art.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere; from my students, nature, my kids. I finally feel inspired by end of my career in education in just over a year. I will finally be able to devote the time and energy to my art I have always wanted to but between being an art teacher and raising my children I didn’t have the time to concentrate on my art. I have recently found my voice and that has been the biggest blessing.
What would you do with $25,000?I think I would set up my art studio at my house to be more professional and functional & take a trip to Europe for more inspiration. I have been twice already, but would love to plan a trip that is not run on a strict agenda. I would like to visit France and Spain and Italy again, without students and parents so I can focus on the art, culture and splendidness of the people, cities and countries.
