My artistic language comes from the fusion of Cubism and abstract figurative painting, heavily influenced by cinema and different film directors. I explore the idea of movement within stillness, creating images filled with emotional and narrative tension. My work is rooted in real-life experiences: friendships, joy, struggle, and the human environment around us. From a critical perspective detached from religion and politics, I use their symbols to shape a visual voice of my own.

I find inspiration in everyday life: relationships, anime and manga, human nature, and especially cinema. Film helps me revisit ideas that already exist in reality but often go unnoticed in daily routines. I connect with Egon Schiele’s expression, Pablo Picasso’s structural disruption, and Wifredo Lam’s symbolism. In that intersection of experience, storytelling, and interpretation is where I shape the core of my work.

As a Cuban immigrant, I’m going through one of the hardest times in my life, facing reality checks almost every day. This money would help me finally build some stability, work toward having my own home, and also support my friend back in Cuba, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, to help with his treatment. I haven’t had many opportunities lately, but I hope that once my English improves, I can go back to teaching visual arts to kids like I used to in my home country.
