Kim Cooke

I create art because it always made me feel like I was accepted and looked at for a reason other then being visibly deformed.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

Honestly, I don't have a certain type of art I love to create.. I guess if I i had to choose it would be anything painting, or drawing. It allows me to express things I can't talk about, in a way that words just can't. Painting is more than a brush to a canvas for me, it's proof that even though I'm a little different, I can still create things that people love, it allows me to know that I'm still worth something even if my body shows me the opposite.

Where do you find inspiration?

9 times out of 10, my inspiration comes while im just sitting on my bed, at my desk, or on the couch watching something, reading, scrolling. Most of the time I have to write it down somewhere or make a little sketch of whatever it may be that I have in my head or else I will forget it. Sometimes the inspiration comes from my own photography or while im out walking, with friends, I'll see something and a idea will come to mind that I need to paint.

What would you do with $25,000?

There's alot of things I could do with $25,000. The first thing I would do, would be pay my mom back, bless her heart shes carried me through life and continues to do so. I would also help her with her own debt. Then, I would do repairs on my car that is seriously needs. After that, I would buy my boyfriend a gift, something I haven't been able to do in a while. If there was anything left after helping those I love, I would invest into some new art supplies, especially paint brushes.
