I like to paint people in historical buildings. The basis is realism, but I fracture and melt the figure and setting enough that it resembles the way my mind remembers moments.
Where do you find inspiration?On hikes, I find that fully formed ideas come to me. So I hike daily and also read a lot as words are colors to me. Poetry is a great conjurer of inspiration for my works.
What would you do with $25,000?It would allow me to support myself while I continue to grow my art career. Art supplies are expensive and this money would go so far toward ensuring I can keep painting and paying bills. It would most of all allow me to take the time to make the highest quality art that I'm capable of.
