My life is transitioning and I have found glass is my zen. When I work on a project I find peace in the shattered colorful array of glass.

Definitely my favorite type of art to create is glass mosaics. I started learning mosaics about 3 years ago at a tile/mosaic manufacturer. With new found freedom, mosaics has become my passion. To make my pieces one of a kind, I hunt for vintage trays, furniture, mannequins or mirrors and give them a new life with my glass art. I enjoy searching for colors and textures of glass to complement my designs. I also revel in stained glass art in which I only just started doing about 9 months ago.
Where do you find inspiration?I am inspired by the glass that I find in my travels. The different colors and textures remind me of the things I love. The glass I find is used to represent my most treasured moments. This reminds me of what was once shattered and chaotic can be pieced together into a work of art. From realistic to fantasy, my mind creates pictures reflected back to me in the individual shards of glass. Around any turn, at any stop the next inspiration could be waiting there for my discovery.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest the money in a larger studio and supples to be able to teach mosaics. I enjoy sharing my expertise with others, unfortunately my workshop is half of a laundry room. I also would love to be able to design and create larger pieces but as of now I am limited to the space I have. I will donate some of the winnings to my local Onancock historic school. This school housed several artist’s workshops, had caught on fire this winter. This sadly displaced several friends of mine.
