Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love making art that transforms perception and evokes surprise, wonder, and intrigue by capturing energy and emotion. There is a playful satisfaction in building depth, light, and color to create a perceptual shift or illusion on a blank canvas, bringing something to the edge of reality. I like to create art that invites exploration like an immersive, detailed world, through surprising elements like bold color relationships for a magical experience or art that demands viewing a new perspective

Where do you find inspiration?

My inspiration draws from nature, the interplay of light and shadow, physics, neuroscience, and perception, as well as moments of deep stillness where awareness sharpens. Rooted in personal experience and relationships, my work becomes a way of seeing differently. I create to shift my own perspective and share those realizations, inviting others to experience new ways of understanding themselves and the world.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would love to attend an artist residency, in nature or another culture immersing myself in a new environment alongside other artists. This type of experience would give me the freedom to expand my practice, explore new perspectives, and create work influenced by fresh surroundings, dialogue, and dedicated time for experimentation while also supporting my art, studio and living expenses and support the installation of an art show to share my experiences.
