To make something today that wasn't there yesterday is a thrill in itself; making that something from discarded objects - simply satisfying.

Mixed media is especially relevant to me as it allows for creative expression which is unique through chosen materials. I especially enjoy the use of wood in my artwork. Wood has a character all its own and allows for nailing, painting and gluing found objects which are found everywhere and spark my imagination for reuse.
Where do you find inspiration? The world is an inspiration if we look around for the treasures discarded or lost. Walking my dog in nature or around man's landscape is always a fruitful adventure. I spent childhood summers on our island on Kashabog lake, Ontario, Canada. My sisters and I imagined our days collecting rocks, making forts, learning about birds, flowers, fish and creating art from sticks and natural elements. My experience as a child can be seen in the art I create today which is both tactile and clourful.
What would you do with $25,000?Pay my bills. Seriously, that has to be the honest answer. Beyond that I would like to support the work of other artists. I believe it is one of the most important things we can do.
