Art is a way for me to bring my internal world to an external environment where I can disentangled it from my heart. At least for a moment.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art is painting with giant oil sticks. It’s more like coloring with massive crayons and finger painting.
Where do you find inspiration?I get my color inspiration from my emotions. I get the actual design elements from symbolizing life experiences. I am an art therapist and I use art to comprehend my own trauma (practice what you preach!). I love printmakers and classic oil painters, like Frieda and Georgia O’Keefe. I love murals and graffiti, as well.
What would you do with $25,000?Unfortunately, I lost my home last year after getting through some terrible treatments for breast cancer. I would apply it toward my taxes or student loan debt that accrued in that time. I’ve been struggling to be self sufficient since my divorce 4 years ago after being married for a quarter of a century. These challenges have decimated me financially, but inspired some great paintings!
