I love creating acrylic paintings and pottery because they give me a sense of freedom to express emotion and a conversation with myself

My favorite art to create is painting because when I paint, colors become expressive emotions, and each brushstroke feels like a conversation with myself. These creative moments slow everything down, helping me process thoughts and feelings I cannot always explain. Art lets me express who I am without needing words, and it reminds me that growth is messy, beautiful, and always worth exploring. The quiet joy of making something expressive that you can feel gives my heart meaning.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration by expressing my emotions and feminine energy along with southwestern nature in my community. Each expression I put my heart into and can tell a story. My favorite painting of the woman with the flowers is an expression of growth in my self, it is titled “Let Yourself Bloom”. It tells the story of me becoming more confident and bold, growing from shyness and self esteem issues when I was younger where I thought I lacked a lot and now I let myself be naturally who I am.
What would you do with $25,000?I would definitely create more pottery! I love the potters wheel but with clay, glaze, and firing costs it is expensive. I would definitely paint more, maybe do a project within my southwestern community. Often, New Mexico is overlooked and not appreciated for its beautiful culture. I’d love to inspire underprivileged children who don’t have opportunities to not be afraid to be themselves, express themselves and build their confidence and really believe in themselves and their unique abilities.
