As a Blackfeet bead artist, I create to carry story, spirit, and identity forward through living, wearable art.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create beadwork that reimagines iconic imagery across Native and non-Native worlds. In my Matriarch series, I transform the familiar jean jacket into a canvas honoring Indigenous women who lead, protect, and break barriers. My work is meant to be seen and felt, a statement that we are still here, still creating, and still protecting this land.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my community. Spending time with people, witnessing how we show up for one another, and observing the natural world around us. I’m constantly asking: how do we relate to each other, and how do we relate to the Earth? My work is an attempt to capture those relationships and carry them forward through beadwork.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in sustaining and growing my work through purchasing materials, covering essential expenses, and funding travel to art markets and exhibitions. This support would allow me to show my work more widely, connect with community, and continue developing as an artist while building a sustainable path forward.
