Ever since I was little various works have inspired, and influenced who I am. And I strive to create in that same way for others.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
As a multi-disciplinary artist, I enjoy a wide variety of mediums but my heart will always belong to illustration. Pencil and Paper. I may not practice it as often but it was my first creative love as an artist when I was a child. It brings me back to when I'd watch cartoons and replicate them onto the page. There are at least a half dozen sketchbooks of me spilling my mind onto the page.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration in my peers. The local talent around me who are also pushing themselves to create the art that not only speaks to them but to others. Many of my stylistic influences come from my favorite childhood cartoons, anime, and comics. Yes, I'm a big nerd. In many of my recent works, my inspo comes from concept albums. Listening to "DAMN" by Kendrick Lamar or "Awaken My Love" by Childish Gambino along with allow me to expand my world building to tell more thought provoking stories.
What would you do with $25,000?I would not only pour into my art but also pour back into my community with it. Some of the funds would go to personal projects such as my upcoming multi-media art show entitled "EGO DEATH". That way I can continue to tell enriching stories that captivate and pay tribute to creativity and culture. While the other portion would go into community such as hosting workshops or providing free/accessible creative services for those who may not have the resources to invest that themselves.
