I love making film as it is a form of self expression told through stories and characters through the lens of a camera.

I'm an Asian-Canadian filmmaker. Growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, I loved watching movies as a child and still do to this day. I started making my first film in 2009, and got to working in the film industry as a Production Assistant. Through that experience I graduated University with a film major and made a web series and continued to make short films to hone my craft and skill. I enjoy making films and telling stories from the sheer simplicity of showing characters and their struggles
Where do you find inspiration? My influences in making films have been Hong Kong Drama Action on the subtleness and nuanced story telling, along with Japanese cinema of Kurosawa's approach of showing the right framing of scenes with actors and stillness. This heavily influences my film work as I am Asian Canadian and I wish to not be put in a box on just telling the same story over and over again. It was great starting with Martial arts short films to character driven dramas.
What would you do with $25,000?If I was awarded $25,000, I would put it towards the budget of my full length film "Desolate". It has been a project I have written since 2020, I managed to make a proof of concept in 2022 and a short film in 2025 that has been accepted into the Gainescon Film Festival in Las Vegas and screened in December 2025. It is a film that portrays a stark, tense atmosphere where hope and humanity persist through struggle and loss.
