Creating art is a process of transmuting internalized energy into a physical form of shared experiences.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
A mixture of eclectic 60’s cartoon style & what I've coined as "Ruin Pop"; a texturized and gritty pop-art derivative that utilizes stencil based portraiture and layered modern art techniques. The stark contrast allows me to work with a range that varies from playful eclecticism, to deeper commentary on power, distortion, & becoming. Integrated or standalone, they provide contrasting views reflective of the world and its dual nature. Believing “both can be true,” my art is a display of such.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration is found in the wide range of my experiences that provoke deep emotion that I’ve yet to find the words for. I’ve often found that the expression of words does little justice to the intensity of which these moments have impacted my spirit. Art has been utilized as the outlet to give this internal intensity a physical form.
What would you do with $25,000?Many artists are restricted from opportunity due to limited access. I hope to provide an opportunity for their expansion. A portion of the funds would be invested into a communal art space for aspiring muralists & aerosol artists to gain large scale experience & add to their portfolio. Offering classes & mentorship to provide guidance and teach best practices. The remainder would be invested into supply costs, as well as hosting events for local emerging artists of all mediums.
