I create art to capture how I see and think, letting my ideas take form so they can live beyond me and reach the world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to creat art woven with symbolism and and deeper meanings where every detail is placed with intention to tell a beautiful yet unsettling story. I tend to lean more towards eerie, that unsettles at first glance, but reveals a quiet beauty and understanding the longer you sit with it.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the 1920s for its fashion, glamor, and sense of freedom and expression. I love the way people leaned into style and self-expression during that time, especially through visual culture and aesthetics. I’m also drawn to religious imagery because of its deep symbolism and the way it holds personal meaning for many people. It’s a topic thats layered and open to interpretation, and I like creating work that encourages viewers to question and reflect on their own self.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to help me pay for college and ease some of the financial pressure that comes with starting this next chapter of my life. I’m going to San Francisco State University to study industrial design, and I have big ambitions of becoming a creative director in the future. Design is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I want to be able to fully focus on growing my skills, building my portfolio, and developing my voice as an artist. This support would mean the world to me.
