My favorite type of art to make is ceramics. I find myself trying to tightly control many aspects of my life. I'm very hard on myself to preform to the best of my abilities and create the best art, but with ceramics, I can let go. The pottery wheel turns pieces into artworks, the kilns are unforgiving, and no two glazes are ever the same. Pottery has helped me learn to roll with the punches, and appreciate work not just for its outcome, but the process and learning curve I endured to make it.

I find inspiration to be an art teacher and create art from my art teachers around me. To be passionate and create art is one amazing thing, but to have the passion to such a magnitude that it pours out of you into others is something that inspires me. My dream and calling is to be an art teacher, and that's where I find inspiration.

I would utilize the funds to finish my degree in Art Education, and then I would use the money to pay my parents back for any expenses and debt they collected supporting me financially and emotionally to get through school. I am so passionate about giving children the opportunity to learn and explore their artistic dreams, so I will use the leftover money to fund my classroom and other art departments in local schools so other kids had the same opportunities I had in the art field.
