I love art because it frees my mind. With music on, I get lost in painting and watch layers build into something magical.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art is expressive painting with heavy body acrylics and oils using palette knives. I focus on movement, texture, and emotion over precision. I was drawn to it painting bridgescapes, where thick paint created depth and energy. I love the buttery texture and sculptural knife strokes. The process is therapeutic—mixing color, layering paint, and watching unexpected textures form. It helps me stay present and embrace both control and spontaneity.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere, and it has evolved throughout my artistic journey. Early on, I was inspired by other artists and would recreate pieces I admired to learn techniques and explore composition and texture. Over time, this helped me develop my own style. Travel is now one of my biggest inspirations. New Orleans is especially meaningful to me—the city is filled with art, music, and creativity on every corner. I love walking Royal Street, visiting galleries, and experiencing the energy
What would you do with $25,000?If I won $25,000, I would build a backyard atelier. I’ve worked in small spaces for years, but I now need more room to create and work on multiple paintings at once. A larger studio would give me freedom to move between projects without limits. My ideal space would support heavy body acrylics and oils with palette knives, allowing me to focus on texture, movement, and experimentation. Natural light, open space, and large work surfaces are important so I can step back and see my work evolve.
