Because it lets me work through what I don’t fully understand until it exists outside of me.

Film. I work with actors and performers and structure to build something that can hold real human behavior without forcing it into something simplified. I’m not interested in making things look good or feel resolved. I’m interested in when a scene starts to carry weight on its own when it stops depending on explanation and just holds. Alongside that, I also create spaces for other artists to work, because the process itself matters as much as the final piece.
Where do you find inspiration? From paying attention. To people, to how situations unfold, to what repeats. A lot of what I work with comes from observation rather than ideas. I’m also shaped by philosophy and spiritual traditions, but only where they connect to how people actually live, act, and deal with consequence not as abstract systems.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to move current projects forward—developing and producing films, and creating working conditions where actors and material can be explored properly. It would also support building a more consistent structure for the lab I’m developing, connecting writing and performance in a focused way. Nothing excessive just what’s needed to do the work well.
