Turning wood on my lathe into usable art brings me joy—the scent, shaping, each unique story. I create to focus, connect, and because I can!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I can’t really put that in a category. I like creating any kind of art that inspires other people. I really enjoy what I do with wood turning and the pieces I create that can be used , loved, and cherished forever.
Where do you find inspiration?Things that inspire me to create… •Being out in nature. •Experiencing other people‘s creations/art. •Finding a challenge and learning how to push forward to create it. •The support and love of family and friends. Especially when showing off a new piece and their excitement for it. •Working with others to create their dream pieces they can love forever; I really enjoy custom pieces!
What would you do with $25,000?I would be truly grateful for the blessing! Would love to be able to take a portion and donate it to the nonprofit foundation of Guide Dogs for the blind. I know how much having a guide dog in my life has enhanced my independence and confidence. Would use the money towards tools and supplies that I’ve needed; in order to continue creating my pieces. I would love to be able to spend more time mastering my skill of making wooden bowls and accepting new challenges of creating new products.
