I’m drawn to that fine line between representation and abstraction. I like to begin with a recognizable structure and then deconstruct it, allowing unexpected elements to emerge organically. It’s the act of creating that I find most fulfilling and not necessarily the final image. For me the true art lies in the exploration, and the joy of that process is what brings me back, again and again.
Where do you find inspiration?Life continually inspires me through both its challenges and the beauty of everyday joys. I’m drawn to exploring what is difficult as much as what is beautiful, finding meaning in unexpected places. Even devastation carries a certain weight and depth that becomes a source for my work. By staying curious and open, I allow life’s many paths to guide me, each experience offering new material for reflection, expression, and creative discovery.
What would you do with $25,000?A portion of the funds would be used to provide art materials for other artists in need. While this may seem selfless, it is also deeply fulfilling, as sharing in my good fortune transforms me in ways few experiences can. The remainder would support my own practice, covering art supplies, studio expenses, and essential day-to-day living costs. This would allow me to continue creating with focus, stability, and a sense of purpose.
