I create art because the process quiets my mind. When the visual result resonates with someone on some level, thatโs beautiful.

Graphite and charcoal drawings are my favorite type of art to create because it feels natural to work with and is a very accessible medium. I enjoy the process of trying to capture a subtle expression or mood, but I don’t feel tied to one subject or style. I’ve had fun experimenting with the drippings from making tie-dye t-shirts, using the mess that’s left to stain paper for future drawings.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration can be found anywhere, in anything, internally or externally. The kind of inspiration that leads me to create usually comes from a little bit of darkness or suffering. It happens when some part of me needs grounding, or when it’s difficult to verbally articulate an emotion.
What would you do with $25,000?This is not the pretty answer, but I would use the 25K to pay down some debt and get medical and dental care that’s been on the back burner because of cost. In dreamland, I would use it to get into a house with more space for me and my four kids. ๐โจโ๏ธ๐
