Leat Silvera

I create because it’s who I am and what I love. If the work invites pause—to relate, to feel, to connect—that means everything to me.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

I paint moments. A split second, held still long enough to feel. There’s a sharp clarity that comes from truly living inside a moment. I’m always searching for it—

Where do you find inspiration?

In my lived experience—the full spectrum of it. Joy, loss, longing, faith. I search for the truth as it moves through me, that truth becomes images I have to paint.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to create a cohesive body of work at a larger scale—work that fully explores the emotional depth and presence I’m pursuing. It would allow me to focus deeply, produce at a higher level, and share the work through exhibitions and thoughtful presentation.
