I've been creating art and the arts since I was probably 5 years old. I'm 59 now and getting back into it. It's just part of who I am.

Abstract and experimental. Some of the work I do is considered automatic or intuitive because I do not draft or plan it ahead of time and it just seems to happen on its own, in a sense. I've worked in music, video/short film, photography, painting, drawing... My recent visual art is mostly painting and drawing smaller size abstract works from minimal to expressive.
Where do you find inspiration?I just open myself up to what comes and try to ignore too much thinking about the piece or the process except for technical things I need to keep in mind. I don't think literally in terms of something inspiring me to create something specific. But I do spend a fair amount of time on Bluesky looking at historical and current art and am especially drawn to unusual, brut, colorful, messy, abstract in general.
What would you do with $25,000?I would pay rent and buy groceries. I would simply exist and keep working on art and arts projects and see where they end up in the world. I have just started to put my work up for sell, and I would be able to continue to invest in that business model and still have time to create more. In the 1980s and again in the mid 2000s, I had very creative periods and some recognition. But never any money for arts. So it would mean a lot to me. And I'm too old now to start over with anything else.
