I create art because it's hard-wired at this point. I don't really know (or want to know) any other way of living.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I primarily like to paint in oils, though I'm capable in other mediums. I like making art that has something fantastic to it. I like narrative work. I like mystery. I like a little shock. A little edge. A little humor. Challenging conventions, challenging myself... I like taking risks.
Where do you find inspiration?I've literally found inspiration in a pamphlet I was handed on the street. Walk through life with contemplation and inspiration is everywhere. Remember, not all inspiration is beauty. Chuck Close famously said, inspiration is for amateurs. The rest of us just show up and get to work.
What would you do with $25,000?Well, first I would breathe a sigh of relief. Then I'd give my set up a proper upgrade. Do some things I haven't been able to do because of financial struggle. Buy some new glasses. Couple pair of socks.
