Creativity is the root of my healing. I have always been sick and it took a toll on me, but being an artist gave me more than just survival.

I love to create artwork that evokes emotion. Artwork has the ability to transport the viewer inward, creating a space to feel seen. I was once told by a professor that less can be better, but my work is consumed with detail. Between the watercolor and the imperfections it creates on the paper with the ink lines and dots that lie above, I find peace. It's my mind and soul connecting with what it knows. I like to create art that shines a light even when the darkness is consuming.
Where do you find inspiration?Oh boy! My inspiration stems from the emotional being I am. All I have known my entire life is survival. I was once called a million-dollar child because of my yearly hospital bills. I got used to pushing and moving forward. Thank god for my mother who taught me "the power of positive thinking", because without I would have given up a long time ago. My list of health issues continues to grow, which means my inspiration is endless! Honestly, I love the person it's molded me into today!
What would you do with $25,000?My list is probably worth more than $25,000, but the things that come to mind are donating to my church so our elders don't have to worry about climbing dangerous stairs. I would use some to go to Germany to see a doctor who could help with my science experiment of a body. Help my mom even if it just means taking her somewhere peaceful to ground herself - because of all people, she deserves it! Lastly, seeing a live orchestra in a castle in Ireland. Overall, health, peace, and laughter!
