I’m most drawn to mixed-media, abstraction, large-scale murals, realism and textured assemblage work that transforms industrial materials into emotional storytelling. My practice blends painting, construction materials, paint skins, surface textures, symbolism, artistry and identity to create work that feels both raw and intentional. I love creating art that people can physically feel, not just observe work that holds labor, memory, resilience, and transformation within the surface itself.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration through lived experience and the visceral energy that comes from creation itself. My self-expression is an extension of my identity, emotions, and personal journey, while also reflecting the shared spiritual and human experience that connects us all. I’m deeply inspired by transformation, vulnerability, labor, texture, symbolism, and the emotional weight materials can carry. My work becomes a reflection of both individual and collective memory, resilience, and evolution.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest the funds into expanding Le Desiree Atelier through larger-scale installations, murals, exhibitions, and material experimentation. The funding would help secure studio space, professional equipment, archival materials, transportation, and production costs for immersive mixed-media works. I would also use part of it to create community-centered opportunities that connect art, skilled trades, and mentorship especially for young creatives entering the arts.
