Art is my anchor and my release the place where my spirit finally gets to talk back.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love creating collage and abstract art because they give me freedom to breathe and build. Collage lets me layer memory, texture, and instinct until something true appears. Abstract work lets my spirit speak in color and rhythm without needing to explain itself. Both ground me, stretch me, and keep me boldly, beautifully uncontained.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere in the quiet drama of daily life. A stranger’s outfit, a cracked sidewalk, a flash of color, a texture that refuses to mind its business. Art, movement, patterns, even the way light hits a wall. The world stays whispering ideas at me, and my spirit stays nosy enough to listen.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d pour it into expanding Rhythmic Futures my after school gateway program for high school students and future makers to step into decorative painting and surface design and into my own growth as an artist. I’d invest in tools, materials, training, and studio upgrades that elevate my craft and deepen what I can pour back into them and myself.
