I’ve always felt this innate compulsion to document people and places around me in a visual, storytelling way. The human element mystifies.

Portraiture and figurative art. I like to create moments or scenes in a painting. Like a person either reacting to a situation or just a quiet expression. That person is sometimes in an environment or it’s more of a portrait. The people I choose to paint are often in subcultures outside the mainstream, for example, lgbtq+ people. I often paint with oils on panel. Sometime I use acrylic in the surrounding environment or as a underpainting.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration when I go out and meet interesting people. I find much inspiration when I travel. Also environments that have bright colors, reflections, weather and certain moods attract me. I immediately want to place people in these scenes. So I always have camera available to document environments.
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly I have had a rough 1.5 years. I developed frozen shoulder at first in my right shoulder and now I have it in my left. The doctor said it will eventually go away. With that money I would get caught up financially and go full force with my art! The silver lining with the shoulder issue is that I 100% know where I want to take my art. I know what my voice will be.
